Deadly Tornadoes Strike Iowa, Causing Multiple Fatalities and Injuries

Four Fatalities in Shelby

Storm chasers captured a large tornado as it crossed the road near Shelby, Iowa, early Friday evening. According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, four people lost their lives, and 35 more sustained injuries as a result of the tornado.

Seven Fatalities in Greenfield

A separate tornado brought tragedy to the small city of Greenfield, Iowa. Authorities confirmed seven fatalities, including two young children, and six injuries.

Additional Tornadoes Reported

Multiple tornadoes were reported late Friday afternoon in various locations across Iowa. The extent of the damage and the number of casualties from these additional tornadoes are still under investigation.
